Mr and Miss JPIA 2010: A Success!

Fire, Water, Earth, Air and Lightning. The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants once again spearheaded its annual celebration of glamour, talent and brain power. This year’s Mr and Miss JPIA, with the theme “Elements” was made possible through the efforts of the JPIA Officers, with help from Dean Rosalita P. Samoy, Department Head Miss Marites G. Varilla, Organization Adviser Mrs. Antonnette G. Daluz and the members of the organization.

Mark Jhun Martinez (BSA4) and Carren Fontillas (BSA3) reigned as winners of the pageant held last October 2, 2010 at the SSC-R de Cavite College Auditorium.

Marie Kimberly Naparota (BSA1B) and Rolando Javier Jr (BSA2) were both awarded as first-runners up; Jose Angelo Mariano (BSA1B) and Ann Junnel Leoncito tied with Liezel Ariane De Ocampo (BSA2) won as second-runners up. Special awards were given and the recipients are as follows: James Calvin Lawsin (BSA1B) received the Mr Photogenic Award; Naparota who also won Ms Photogenic Award and Ambassadress of Goodwill; Jaztin Lexter Salazar (BSA1A) who received the Diamond Award, Prim and Proper and Best in Production Attire; Aira Ilas (BSA1A) winning Prim and Proper and Best in Production Attire; Benjamin Tan Jr and Christina Evangelista of BSA1A both got the Apple of the Eye Award; Mark Nino Ilano (BSA3) won the Step Up Award and his partner Fontillas bagging Best in Corporate Wear and Eloquence Award; Javier took Best in Talent, Mr. Congeniality and Best in Sportswear. His partner Leoncito also won special awards, Miss Congeniality, Best Sportswear, Best Casual Wear, and Best Corporate Wear; Mariano who won the Showmanship Award and his partner Cherry Ann Bernardo of BSA1B won the Step Up Award; Martinez received several awards, People’s Choice Award, Best in Sportswear, Best in Casual Wear, Best in Corporate Wear, Best in Evening Wear, Eloquence Award and Ambassador of Goodwill. Martinez’ counterpart Liezel Ariane de Ocampo of BSA4 won Best in Talent, People’s Choice Award, Miss Congeniality, Showmanship Award and Diamond Award.

The crowd stirred up as the winners of the raffle draw were announced. Ten lucky winners of one hundred pesos for the consolation prizes and for the main prizes, one lucky winner of one thousand pesos (50% for the solicitor), one lucky winner of two thousand pesos (50% for the solicitor) and for the grand prize, the lucky person will win three thousand pesos (50% for the solicitor).

In their final walk, the candidates were serenaded by Christiene Lawrence Matic and Ferdine Clarice Manguera of BSA2. Last year’s Mr. Talent, Daryll Lomente, showed off his energetic dance number. Meanwhile, last year’s Miss Talent, Anne Laurice Ferrer, proved everything she got as she sang “Through the Fire.”

Jed Herrera and Jane Bunda took their final walk as they conveyed their gratuitousness to everyone who helped them in achieving their previous victory.

Overall, the event was a huge success and with their finest skills in hosting, Vhernalyn Julve and Radel Pangilinan, both coming from BSA2, made the pageant lively in a “major major” way.

Mr and Miss JPIA 2010 Pre-pageant (Talent Show) was held September 27, 2010 at the College Auditoirum.
